Parent Engagement

Beechwood values the partnership we have with our parent community, and there are a number of ways to be active:

  • Parents are encouraged to reach out to their child’s teachers with questions or concerns and are always welcome to visit our campus for special classroom or school events.
  • Our Parent Advisory (PA) is another avenue for parent involvement. PA plans special family events and supports school initiatives.
  • Parents complete 10 hours of Parent Education and 15 volunteer hours each year.

Community Engagement

Established in 1986, Beechwood is an active and committed member of the Belle Haven Community in Menlo Park. This has allowed us to connect and partner with a number of  organizations including: Peninsula Bridge, Sophie’s Scholars Program, Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, Belle Haven Youth Center, Facebook, Gunderson Dettmer, and Basic Fund.

Volunteering at Beechwood

We love our volunteers! Beechwood welcomes volunteers from the community to participate in our Reading Buddies program or as subject tutors. Since 1992, our Reading Buddies program has partnered our students with volunteers with the intention of exposing students to a wide range of books and developing lifelong reading habits. Want to get involved? Email Xiomara Nickings, our Volunteer Coordinator (xnickings@shorinji-kempo.net).
